Without these capacities, Dr. Lloyd argues, we run the risk of going off in the wrong direction in the “blink of an eye.”

The first national Innovation and Improvement Survey for the NHS

Are you interested in making the NHS better for patients, families, the public and NHS staff? The NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement has launched the first nationwide Innovation and Improvement survey specifically designed for the NHS. It offers all NHS staff an opportunity to influence the national innovation and improvement agenda. It is your chance to have your say and help the NHS Institute to understand what is needed to create the best solutions to some of the biggest challenges that face NHS staff and organisations.

The survey will capture the challenges that you are facing and will provide an insight into what you need to help improve patient care and the health of the population. It gives you the opportunity to feed back information about the ways you are already improving your services and captures your ideas about how innovation for improvement in the NHS could be even better. The survey is now live and will close on the 8 June.

The potential of this is phenomenal. The results will be the main mechanism that informs the programmes of work that happen at national and regional level in the NHS over the next year.
The survey is open to all NHS staff. There are two things that we would like you to do:
1. Complete the online survey, it takes around 10 minutes. To complete your survey, go to www.institute.nhs.uk/innovationsurvey
2. Forward this link to anyone else who will be interested in having their say and influencing the national innovation agenda

Please note:
Results will only be analysed at nationwide and SHA level and will not be analysed at the level of an individual NHS organisation or team. All responses will be anonymous and no individual responses will be shared. It will not be possible for anyone to identify respondents as a result of the survey. When the survey is complete, everyone who has completed the survey will have the option to view their results in comparison to the overall responses.
