16 NEW PRACTITIONERS WITH SPECIAL INTERESTS FRAMEWORKS TO SUPPORT COMMISSIONERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS.

NHS PCC held a national event in London last week to launch the 16 new
Practitioners with Special Interests Frameworks to support
commissioners and service providers. These frameworks were developed
by the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Royal
Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and the DH and will be
launched on the DH website shortly.

In the meantime, commissioning organisations were asked to review the
accreditation process for Practitioners with Special Interests as outlined in the DH Directions.
It is mandatory for all PCTs to have an accreditation process in place
and have accredited PwSIs by March 2009.

Further Information can be found here.
