Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is hosting Showcase Hospitals Combating Infection – a free one day conference at The Galpharm Stadium, Stadium Way,Huddersfield, on 2nd September 2009. As one of the seven Showcase Hospitals, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is holding a special one day conference to demonstrate progress to date with this innovative programme. Speakers include:- Strategic Health Authority, MHRA, Design Council and Smart Solutions amongst others.
Delegate places are free to all healthcare workers and are allocated on a first come first served basis.

How a Simple Checklist Can Dramatically Reduce Medical Errors
Physician and patient safety leader, Dr. Peter Pronovost, recently joined an IHI Open School for Health Professions conference call to discuss the remarkable power of simple checklists in health care delivery. The checklists which include basic hygiene and sterilization practices that have helped clinicians across the world dramatically reduce the medical errors that lead to hospital infections.
