Celebrating specialised housing in later life, these new Awards by Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) are open to all forms of retirement housing. For the first time the residents themselves will nominate schemes through a consultation involving them in small groups as well as individually. A deck of cards has been designed to stimulate discussions and help capture satisfaction ratings on design, services, and well-being.
These awards are supported by the CLG and by the Housing LIN, and endorsed by: Age Concern and Help the Aged, the Association of Retirement Housing Managers, the Centre for Housing & Support, the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Essential Role of Sheltered Housing, FirstStop Advice, the Retirement Housing Group of the Home Builders Federation, the Local Government Association, McCarthy & Stone, the National Housing Federation and the Audit Commission.
