Exploring the Experience of Seldom Heard People Affected by COPD
The Picker Institute was asked to undertake research with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients and their carers on behalf of the Department of Health, as part of the development of its National Service Framework. Using focus groups and interviews, the project sought to explore the views of minority ethnic patients in order to establish whether their experience and understanding of their condition was markedly different to that of the majority white population.
