In this video clip, John Seddon introduces private sector managers Laurence Barrett and Rob Brown, who explain why they first tried and then rejected front office/back office shared services.
They explain that the thinking and assumptions behind front and back office splits are based upon creating economies of scale: a flawed management concept. Instead, the aim should be to create economies of flow.
